Simon Says Child Bereavement Support

Portsmouth wide

When someone close dies, children may not have the words to talk about their feelings. They may feel angry; guilty; frightened and alone. The death of someone important can have an overwhelming effect on a young person, but given appropriate support and information, children and young people can be helped to understand what has happened, cope with their feelings and rebuild their lives. Whether the death was sudden or expected, we work closely in practical and creative ways with all members of the family to ensure that the child or young person can be supported, whilst still holding onto the memories of the person who died.

Simon Says Aim to:
Supply written information and resources to bereaved children and their families and to those families who are dealing with someone close who is terminally ill.
Run a telephone helpline.
Provide befriending/counselling.
Offer advice.
