  Chinese New Year at Gunwharf Quays on Sunday 17th February promises to be bigger and better than before with traditional folk dances and high energy martial arts displays.
  
  Taking place in Centrale Square, the day will be jam packed with local entertainers including the extremely popular Chinese Lion Dance and procession at 12 noon and again at 3pm. There will also be face painting with animals of the zodiac and the opportunity to make ‘Year of the Snake' cards.
  
  Joining the line up will be folk dancers from The Portsmouth Chinese Association Dance Team, winners of the 2008 China Central Television (CCTV) Grand Prix Competition.
  
  Visitors will also get the chance to see Southampton duo Helen Osborn and Alice Glasspool, Co-Founders of Next Generation Martial Arts perform Chinese Kickboxing and Tai Chi. The instructors will be on hand to give the crowds a taster of the sport.
