Preston is a city buzzing with activity, from its sell out shows at the Charter Theatre to the 21 mile long Preston Guild Wheel cycling and walking path route; from great shopping to Preston North End FC (one of the founding members of the football league). Whether you live here or are just here for a visit, there's always something to do.
It's a city surrounded by beautiful countryside. With picturesque walks in Beacon Fell and the Forest of Bowland, and Brockholes nature reserve all within easy reach. The city also has a number of great parks including Avenham Park in the city centre and Withy Grove Park in Bamber Bridge, with its enormous adventure playground suitable for children of all ages.
Animal lovers can enjoy a trip to the Wild Boar Park in Chipping (which has a number of animals, not just Wild Boars!) or to Old Holly Farm in Garstang, where you can enjoy a homemade ice cream while the kids burn off steam in the playbarn.
Preston boasts a number of museums including the award winning Lancashire museum, the Harris Museum and Art gallery and the Ribchester Roman museum. All with plenty for the children to enjoy and with regular activities planned to keep them entertained.
