Strictly Cupcakes are a family based business, located in the heart of Preston city centre.
Why not come and join us in our newly opened vintage tea room for an experience you'll want to come back to. You can relax while devouring the most gorgeous cupcakes around, and drink Twinnings tea from vintage china tea cups.
We pride ourselves in our freshly baked and decorated cupcakes that not only look beautiful, but taste even better. Not only can you enjoy our beautiful tearoom, but we also cater for other events.
If you have a birthday, wedding, christening, baby shower, or corporate event that requires that little bit of something special, we will take our time to understand your needs fully and cater especially for you. Your special occasion will be talked about for a long time to come.
Lovely little cafe, with a kind of mini shop selling vintagey things like bunting etc.
"little" and "mini" are important words though - this cafe really is very very small. They have crammed in more tables than should really be there, and they seem to be fairly busy too. Not somewhere for prams or noisy children. I have even felt cramped if I had a few bags of shopping.
Still, if yours are past that stage, or babies in slings, or you only have grown ups, this is a lovely place to meet one or two friends, have a (delicious!) cupcake and admire the vintage kitsch surroundings.
They also seem to do cupcakes for takeout, and are fairly near the park. Fate, clearly. Can't wait for picnic weather :-D
Whoops hadn't finished. Otherwise it is a nice little place to stop, be specific with your drinks if you're having a hot one, and be patient if the place is a little full.
I've been in quite a few times now just to give it a fair chance. Great to see the 'breastfeeding friendly' note in the window, but please note it's not one to go to if you have ANY kind of wheels - there are steps to get into the cafe and inside is far too small to navigate and park with them.
The cupcakes, the interior and the servingware are all equally gorgeous, as are the scones with cream and jam. The only thing we have been consistently disappointed with is the hot drinks! Hot chocolate tastes like the instant 'add hot water' kind and always too weak, tea for one always comes in a pot too large filled to the top and so by the time it's poured out is mega weak, coffee sometimes weak, sometimes strong - maybe it depends who's behind the counter. Staff are mostly lovely and very friendly but don't always seem approachable to give feedback to.
