Our "local" national historic house, recently renovated and refurbished and operated by the National Trust, provides a delightful day out for the family. Just 20 minutes' drive from Redbridge area (or accessible easily by train - Rainham station) and you'll be transported back in time inside the walls of this manor house.

A charming and lovingly restored interior shows the history of the first owner and his family, a 17th century sea captain. The house is enclosed by beautiful garden with lots to find and see for children and adults. A small cafe in the restored stable block provides seating and the obligatory cake and tea break.

Free admission for National Trust members.
