Libraries across Sheffield
30-Jun-16 to 10-Dec-16
A Children in Need Funded project with Sheffield Libraries
Children will explore themes around “play”, “local heroes”, “everyday patterns”, “our spaces” and “beyond these streets” using photography, creative writing and visual art techniques and resources. Aiming to encourage care and pride for one's surroundings, acceptance of others and broadening aspirations, participants will develop their confidence, creativity and communication skills. The children will be encouraged to write postcards about their experiences and post them to the other libraries taking part in the project to foster friendships in new areas. The art work produced during the year will be displayed in each library with a final celebration event held – inviting friends and family to see the artwork, watch the film from the project and hear about the children's experiences.
The sessions are open to the public and are FREE. You can book in advance by contacting the libraries directly or just turn up on the day. Spaces are limited. Under 8s must be accompanied by a parent/carer.
Details of individual sessions can be found at http://www.igniteimaginations.org.uk/programme/everyday-stories/
