The Magnard Ensemble
Rebecca Kenny – narrator

Roald Dahl is 100 this year and his subversive, humorous and darkly clever tales continue to entertain and thrill children of all ages. The Magnard Ensemble (including Wells alumnus Joe Shiner), explore his work through spoken word, theatre and live music by Paul Patterson and Martin Butler. Join their family workshop in the morning, then perform as part of the afternoon concert. Bring a picnic and your parents if they're brave enough! They might think they know the stories, but take care – in Dahl's weird and wonderful world nothing is quite what it seems.

No particular musical knowledge is required. The workshops will be led by the highly skilled players of the Magnard Ensemble, split into probably three age/ability groups, to create a new musical setting of Roald Dahl's Goldilocks which will be performed as part of the afternoon concert alongside Little Red Riding Hood and Three Little Pigs. Please bring instruments if you have them, but we will also be providing tuned and untuned percussion and there will be opportunities for singers too.
