Poise Brook is a designated nature reserve that is home to a wide variety of habitats and wildlife.

Poise Brook consists of predominantly ancient broad leaved woodland which contains trees such as oak, beech and sycamore.

There is a wide variety of flowers present, including bluebells, which carpet the woodland floor in spring. Poise Brook flows through the woodland before joining the River Goyt at the north of the site.
The woodland is a great place for walking and enjoying the countryside. It contains a wealth of woodland bird species including woodpeckers and treecreepers as well as a good mix of plants, insects and fungi.
