Crabbing At Walberswick

disabled access

Walberswick is a different kind of seaside village, made unique by its understated beach huts, competitive crabbing tradition, rugged beach and the smattering of artists and writers that call it home. Walberswick is surrounded by a thousand acres of heath and marshland, all of which are part of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, making walking in Walberswick a sublime experience.

Walberswick is the unofficial 'home' of Crabbing and every Summer it hosts large gatherings of eager crabbers.

Crabbing is a fun way to spend an afternoon. Encourage your children to compare their catches but make sure they put the crabs back in the water after the examinations so that the crabs can carry on with their own afternoons! Local shops sell buckets, baits and lines so if you haven't brought your own supplies they're easy enough to buy on the day
