The Ship at Dunwich

disabled access

Once a haunt of smugglers, The Ship Inn is a great place to eat, drink, relax and relax. Now a quiet, idyllic village, surrounded by nature reserves, heathland and beach, only the romantic ruins of Dunwich monastery remain to hint at the fate of this once thriving medieval port claimed by the waves during a terrible storm. It's said you can still hear the peal of the church bells beneath the waves. We are a great pub, and restaurant, a hotel with comfortable bedrooms, some with sea/marsh views. There's an enormous garden with fruit trees and a beach nearby. We have a Child Friendly menu serving smaller portions, huge enclosed gardens to run in and 3 dining areas. Keep children occupied whilst you dine with our free crayons and drawing paper too.
