Running along the River Stour from Brundon down to the Football Ground, Sudbury Suffolk, CO10
Open access but check for flooding
The stunning water meadows surround the River Stour and incorporate rough tracks along the meadows themselves, closely following the Stour and the disused Sudbury-Bury railway which can be walked. Mill pools, paddling areas, duck feeding ponds, boating lakes, weirs and beautiful places to stop, picnic or visit for a meal (The Mill Hotel), the meadows are beloved to all of us who grew up here.
Sudbury sits close to the River Stour on the Suffolk Essex border. It is a delightful market town surrounded on three sides by its famous water meadows and rolling hills. A Suffolk wool town famous for its historic links with Thomas Gainsborough and Simon of Sudbury. It is also the commercial heart for many local villages, with their own unique charms.
