St Mary's Church

Bury St. Edmunds

St Mary's is home to an active and growing Christian community today. About 250 people come to worship here each Sunday. There are four services on a Sunday offering very different styles of worship (informal for families at 9:30am, traditional with robed choir at 11am) and many activities during the week. We invite people to join us, whether you live locally, or are visiting Bury St Edmunds.

St Mary's Church is also well worth a visit during the week. It claims to be the third largest parish church in England, to have the second longest aisle and the largest west window. Mary Tudor, the sister of Henry VIII is buried here. We are also the Civic Church of the Town and Borough. We are open to visitors during the week from 10am - 4pm (3pm in the winter).
