Hatchlands Park

Spanning over 422 acres, and open 363 days a year, our parkland at Hatchlands is a wonderful spot to enjoy the great outdoors. Just 45 minutes outside Greater London and with great stuff to do every season, why not stop by and enjoy a breath of fresh air.

The Georgian house at Hatchlands was built in 1756, replacing a Tudor house on the estate. Inside you can explore six beautifully restored rooms, richly decorated with a family feel.

The Sylvanian Families Nature Trail leads families with young children through an area of recently planted woodland, prompting them to discover interesting facts about the surrounding wildlife and trees.

Equipped with an activity sheet, budding young nature-goers can have fun spotting the familiar Sylvanian characters who appear on specially designed signs along the trail. The signs provide questions to test children's knowledge of nature, with the characters providing handy, rhyming clues!

Local chainsaw artist, Steve Francis has also transformed the main Sylvanian Families characters, Freya Chocolate Rabbit, Ralph Walnut Squirrel and Abigail Bramble Hedgehog into eye-catching wooden sculptures for children to discover along the trail.
