We ate there as part of the Mumsnet Review panel. The restaurant is very open with a good space for buggies. Food was as we expected, service and attention to detail, plus welcome for our children (4 and 2) was excellent.
The children enjoyed their food, and the restaurant managed them well, bringing starters straight away so they could get eating, colouring crayons and mat, plastic cups for their drinks. Their meals went down very well although we found the macaroni cheese a bit rich. Ice lollies for pudding greatly enjoyed.
Our meals were nice. Overall a good experience and we had a nice time. Would consider going again if in the area, depending on what we wanted to eat.
We ate there as part of the Mumsnet Review panel. The food tasted good but their menu is quite limited. I liked the feel of the restaurant but the toilets were grotty and really tight to navigate when you have a little one in there with you.
The portions were about the right size but the lack of choice on the set menu was frustrating. Generally we are easy to please but it is annoying to have to settle for dishes to get the deal or else your price paid can double.
Overall I would go again if in the area but wouldn't book it or organise something there.
Our family ate at Café Rouge in Dorking at 6pm on a Friday night. The restaurant is lovely inside with plenty of space between tables and lovely décor.
We were welcomed by very friendly waiters and our service throughout the meal was excellent.
The new children's menu is great. My nine year old son usually orders form the adult menu now, but there was plenty to tempt him on the children's menu so it meant we saved a bit of money! Lots of choice for children and everything was freshly cooked and came with a nice selection of veg. Puddings were outstanding.
Adults mains were also excellent. Delivered quickly, generous portions and very high standard.
We really couldn't fault our experience and plan to visit regularly.
Our family enjoyed dinner here on 11/8/15 at 5pm. The decor is nice and we received excellent service from friendly and efficient staff.
The new children's menu (starter, main, dessert, drink) is excellent with a broad range of choices for mains. The portions very generous and our sons loved their food (one had pasta with tomato sauce; the other had sausage & mash).
My one criticism is the lack of vegetarian options. The main dinner meal offers just two - goat's cheese tart or vegetable risotto with butternut squash. My husband and I both had the risotto, which we enjoyed, and I was pleased I was able to substitute the butternut squash (yuk!) for mushrooms. The frites were gorgeous - would have been happy with a bowl of these and mustard!
Would recommend although, as a vegetarian, I probably wouldn't go regularly myself until they extend the vegetarian choices.
