Museum of London holds several collections that tell the history of the city from prehistoric times to decorative arts, fashion and objects that tell the social and working developments in the capital.
At this site in the Docklands, one collection shows how times evolved in this area of London through "material from London's docks, the river Thames and riverside industries", as they explain. This collection "is particularly strong in artefacts relating to port and river trades, boats, cargo handling, conservancy and navigation."
