One of Hackneys best loved traditional river <br />parks, with a rich history, this former country <br />house estate, Clissold Park, was first opened <br />to the public in 1889.<br />In 2010 Clissold park was awarded a Green Flag <br />award.<br /><br />The Green Flag Award Scheme recognises and <br />rewards the best green spaces in the country. <br />Hackney currently has twelve Green Flags: <br />one of the highest totals in London.<br />Facilities include children's play area, <br />basketball and tennis courts, conservation <br />and woodland areas including a deer enclosure, <br />and organic nature garden and butterfly tunnel <br />(Tuesday and Thursday, 12.30pm to 2.30pm).<br />They offer a summer paddling pool that opens <br />Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, <br />Sunday and bank holidays, 11am to 7pm.<br /><br />We do strongly suggest you ring Clissold Park <br />before you set off on your family day out, <br />just to make sure they are open and to confirm <br />admission prices.
