Little Red Riding Hood Christmas 2014
A fantastic way to start to the festive season!
A brilliant cast, great songs and wonderful costumes makes sure that The Customs House has all the ingredients for a fab Christmas Panto!
It is a great show for all of the family. There are lots of opportunities for the children to get involved as well as some jokes for the grown ups (which, luckily, go straight over the kiddies head)!! I spent most of the show laughing, as did the man sitting beside me!
The Customs House have done a great job of adding a twist to the traditional story of Little Red Riding Hood that had us all enthralled from beginning to end. Ray Spencer MBE, is a superb pantomime Dame as Granny Hood, even if he did get muddled with the dance moves. My daughter loved his version of ‘All About that Bass!'
My standout character was Bracken, played brilliantly by Jamie Birkett. Bracken's costume was also my favourite! My daughter, a huge Frozen fan, was transfixed when she sang ‘Let it Go'.
We loved the comedy roles of Timber and The Three Pigs, particularly Saveloy, played by Luke Maddison. The pig costumes were wonderful and had you laughing before they even started to speak.
My daughter's favourite character was, of course, Little Red Riding Hood played by Natasha Haws. She loved the romance between Red and Prince Chop-a-lot, particularly their duet.
The cast were well supported by the dancers from South Tyneside Dance Workshop.
We had a brilliant night and my daughter and her friend spent most of the journey home talking animatedly about all of their favourite parts – which were a lot!
I would definitely go back to see the panto at The Customs House and am already looking forward to next years show of Alice in Wonderland.
Little Red Riding Hood is running until the 10th January 2015.
We were invited to review this pantomime by The Customs House and received complimentary tickets.
