The Hepworth Wakefield is Yorkshire's landmark gallery for the visual arts. Designed by David Chipperfield Architects, the gallery is located in the outstanding setting of Wakefield's historic waterfront. The gallery celebrates the area's artistic legacy as the birthplace of Barbara Hepworth, one of the 20th Century's most important artists, and brings together work from Wakefield's art collection, internationally renowned artists as well as a significant collection of Hepworth's work.

Renowned for its learning programme and family activities, The Hepworth Wakefield makes a gallery trip fun for children and grown-ups alike, with a family trail and Explorer Backpacks to help you discover the exhibitions, a riverside play park and an indoor picnic area - ideal for wet weather. There's always fun, free artist-led activities at weekends and during school holidays - including print making and sculpture workshops.

The gallery also hosts special events from sleepovers and Zombie Walks to the Christmas Market and visits from Father Christmas.
