Battersea Dogs & Cats Home was founded in 1860 and moved to its current location in 1871.
Squeezed between train tracks, a gas works and Battersea's iconic power station, the home is often a surprise to visitors. They are usually amazed to discover just how big the site is and the fact that we normally have 240 dogs and 70 cats on site at any one time.
In September 2010 the facilities at Battersea were further enhanced with the opening of a brand new, state-of-the-art cattery.
The home aims never to turn away a dog or cat in need of our help. We reunite lost dogs and cats with their owners through our Lost Dogs & Cats Line or care for them until new homes can be found, giving them shelter and the highest standards of veterinary care.
The home is open to visitors seven days a week, from 10.30am-5pm (last admission at 4pm).
Times and prices are subject to change. Contact venue before setting out.
