Peace Pagoda

Battersea

One of the major landmarks in Battersea Park, the Buddhist Peace Pagoda was built in 1985 and is home to one of Japan's foremost Buddhist sects, the Nipponzan Myohoji Buddhist Order. The pagoda is maintained by the Rev. Nagase, who relies on donations to live and is grateful to the bread he gets from a local Caribbean bakery and vegetables from a Chinese vegetable shop. Any help is welcomed, not least with assistance in cleaning the pagoda.
