Bumps, Balls and Breathing

Run by a qualified antenatal teacher, these pregnancy classes combine breathing, visualisation and relaxation techniques with the opportunity to practise different labouring positions using a birthing ball. They also include information on the physiology of labour, so you can understand how to help yourself to a positive birthing experience.

A great opportunity to focus on your baby, whilst both mentally and physically preparing for the birth.

Most sessions are for women only, but in Carterton on the first Friday of every month there is a session for partners to attend too. This can help them to have a better understanding of their role, and how they can best help the labouring woman to cope really well during her labour. This session incorporates some simple massage techniques to use in labour, as well as explaining the rationale behind the importance of staying calm and relaxed in labour.

Suitable from about 28 weeks of pregnancy, right up to being overdue! You can come to as many or as few classes as you like, but you will get more benefit if you can attend at least 3 - 4 sessions.

Times and prices are subject to change. Contact venue before setting out.
