    23-Apr-2014 Report

The centre was established as a nursery nearly 50 years ago by the Cheals family. They specialised in field grown trees and shrubs, later expanding into bedding and houseplants. Many a flower show was held at the centre and the passion for flowers lives on with past and present staff, one of whom 'rediscovered' and named several plants including Daffodil 'Lady Marina Cowdray', Delphinium 'Cowdray Select' and Lupin 'Beryl, Viscountess Cowdray', all named for the nearby Cowdray estate. At weekends the South Downs Light miniature railway operates in the centre - as popular with adults as it is with children!
We sell top quality growing stock, gardening products and garden furniture as well as birdcare products, floristry, houseplants and books.
