Family Wild Life Drawing: Halloween Special

The Strand

Mon 24 October, 11.00-13.00 & 14.00-16.00

Wild Life Drawing is a drawing class with a difference. Instead of human life models, the subjects are real animals. The aim of the drawing classes is to inspire a sense of appreciation and understanding for animals and their conservation through creativity. This October Wild Life Drawing will be hosting a special Halloween drawing event for families at Somerset House, where you'll get the chance to meet and draw wolves. To be specific, these are a domestic species of British Lupine dog which are perfect wolf look-a-likes, originally a hybrid from many years ago. Even though they are perfectly tame household pets, they still retain their pack mentality, eat only raw meat and howl at the full moon!

During the session, the class will be introduced to the “wolves” with a short talk from the experienced animal handlers and everyone will able to study them closely. Both adults and children will be led through a series of fun drawing exercises to start, then we will focus on the form, fur and face to create finished drawings. All abilities are welcome at this class and drawing tutor Jennie Webber will be on hand for any artistic guidance.

Times and prices are subject to change. Contact venue before setting out.
