Bank of England Museum


The Bank of England Museum tells the story of the Bank of England from its foundation in 1694 to its role today as the United Kingdom's central bank.

Children will enjoy the events taking place in the Museum during school holidays, from treasure hunts to storytelling.

Adults and children alike will enjoy the special exhibitions on the Bank's history and work, featuring fascinating objects from our collections that are not usually on display.

Your Money: What the Bank Does
A new permanent display which explains the role of the Bank of England in today's economy. The display looks at how the Bank maintains the value of your money, and how it protects the financial system from economic shocks.

Monday to Friday:‚Äč 10.00am - 5.00pm (last entry 4.45pm).
24 & 31 December 2014: 10.00am - 1.00pm.
Closed at weekends and Public Bank Holidays.
