Volunteer Reading Helper

Beanstalk is a national literacy charity that recruits, vets, trains and supports volunteers to work in primary schools with children who have fallen behind with their reading. Beanstalk's vision is that all children and young people have the essential skills they need to grow up and lead successful lives.

Last year a quarter of all children, left primary school unable to read well. They struggle for the rest of their education, in their careers and often in life. Everyone should be able to take the opportunities their life offers, but without confident reading so many doors are closed.

Volunteers are matched with a local primary school within 5 miles of your home. Volunteers support three children who each receive 30 minutes of support from you twice a week, every week during term time.
