1) There are train books for children.
2) There's a Brio train layout and a plastic one to assemble.
3) There's jigsaws, floor puzzles and wooden puzzles.
4) There's sheets with colouring, numeracy or literacy activities for different age groups.
5) There are various "fact sheets" and posters on the walls and a wealth of transport-oriented literature to browse or take away.
6) Near the stage, there is a screen showing DVDs of trains and chairs for children or adults to sit on down below.
7) There's usually railway simulation game activities for children to do.
8) There's an "N" guage railway layout and an Hornby "00" guage railway layout - both with a variety of trains.
9) There may be the chance for older children to try making a railway item under strict supervision. Previous sessions have included assembling plastic or card model kits and model trees.
10) At approx 11am and 2pm there's a refreshment break for everybody, young children first around the temporarily cleared tables, with juice and fruit snacks.

Special train biscuits will be available for a small donation. All proceeds from the event will be given to Mission Helping Hands charity:
