Worcestershire is a fantastic county with something to offer everyone. With some areas only 20-30 minutes from central Birmingham and a direct rail link to London Paddington, Worcestershire is well-connected, yet some of the most stunning rural scenery, peace and tranquility in Britain is also on offer.
Worcester itself is continuously transforming into a stunning modern university city with its imposing, majestic cathedral on the banks of the River Severn whilst also home to Europe's only combined public and university library, The Hive. To the south of the county, the historic spa town of Malvern nestles in the Malvern Hills, which are said to be the inspiration behind the melody of Elgar's enigma variations. The Malvern Hills provide plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors and venturing to the top gives you spectacular views which stretch well beyond Worcestershire to Birmingham, Gloucestershire, Wales and beyond (apparently parts of thirteen counties are visible on a good day).
To the south-east of the county, the historic market towns of Pershore and Evesham are friendly communities with plenty of things to do. Travelling north, the towns of Redditch and Bromsgrove are bustling commuter towns for Birmingham and provide plenty of opportunities for fun and games with stunning countryside activities available at Arrow Valley Park or cultural events at the Artrix. Two of the West Midland's premiere attractions, The West Midland Safari Park and the Severn Valley Railway are located at the historic riverside town of Bewdley in the north of the county, so there is scope for plenty of wonderful family days out.

The west of the county is a rural paradise, mainly consisting of small, friendly villages and hamlets, but the small town of Tenbury Wells marks the north western corner of Worcestershire, as it is on the border of Herefordshire and Shropshire. A journey in this direction will put you on the path of farm shops and country pubs, perfect for a relaxing day out and enjoying a morsel of locally produced food or ale.
