Tashi Lhunpo Monks Family Concert

disabled access

A memorable & visually spectacular performance from the Monks of the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery who use colourful masked dances - accompanied by bells, cymbals, horns, chants & songs - to illustrate the sacred world of Tibet.

Founded by the first Dalai Lama in the 15th Century, Tashi Lhunpo is now re-established in exile in South India and is one of the major centres of Buddhist learning, acclaimed for its artistic tradition of masked dances and sacred music. This performance offers a rare opportunity to witness a unique and endangered culture.
