    25-Oct-2012 Report

The Barber Institute of Fine Arts has been described as one of the finest small art galleries in Europe.

The galleries are small but there's a lot of art in a small space, with Degas, Van Gogh, Monet, Manet and Picasso amongst the starring names.

There is a small refreshment area and gift shop, as well as an ongoing program of lunchtime talks and other events.

The staff have always been friendly, and being free, it's always worth a visit, especially combined with the nearby Lapworth Museum and Winterbourne Botanical Gardens. It's easily accessed by buses from the Bristol Road, or from the University train station.
