A perfect night out for St Patrick's day!
This is a performance storytelling show that delves into the stories of The Ulster Cycle, one of the great cycles of Irish mythology. Following the life of the boy warrior Cú Chulainn from his magical birth to his dramatic death, The Hero Light explores an ancient world of rulers, battles and demi-gods, where wealth is measured in cattle and a child can be the fiercest warrior in the land.
Dominic Kelly masterfully weaves stories from more than 1,000 years of Irish myth and presents them with his trademark wit and energy. Set against a backdrop of the wild Irish landscape, the story is huge in scale, with a cast of thousands, all conjured by a single storyteller on an almost bare stage.
An epic immersive experience- the audience are swept along in the energetic storytelling, rhythmic drumming, intoxicating drama of the story and continually changing dynamics of the performance. Battles and bloodshed and epic feuds are interspersed with moments of laughter, romance and pure magic.
