The Art of Poetry

disabled access

An exciting exhibition featuring over 30 artists and makers whose work has been inspired by poetry. Each piece of art will be exhibited alongside the poem that inspired it: the majority by wonderful classic poets such as Wordsworth, Keats and Shelley, but also contemporary self-penned poetry by the artists themselves. The exhibition includes painting, printmaking, drawing, photography, glass, textiles and ceramics.

To accompany the exhibition there will also be a book featuring selected pieces and poems from the show.

On Tuesday 23rd April, 6:30pm to 9pm, to coincide with World Book Night (and Shakespeare's birthday!) we would be delighted if you could join us at the gallery to meet some of the exhibiting artists, with readings from the poems that inspired their work. We will also be giving away selected World Book Night novels. The evening is free to attend.

Times and prices are subject to change. Contact venue before setting out.
