Supportive Care for New Mothers

disabled access

A home visiting service offering counselling and on-going support with changes that may result from taking on the new role of mothering. The service can provide help gaining greater understanding and managing what may happen to you with the arrival of a new baby and adapting to a new way of life. The service is tailored to the needs of the new mother (e.g. frequency of visits) and is confidential and set within a counselling time frame and ethical practise.

I have been a counsellor and psychodynamic therapist in private practice for over 17 years. I have also worked for the NHS for 15 years in a GP surgery setting. Alongside this work I have been involved with families and parents through a charity called Home-Start providing on-going weekly support and advice on parenting skills with mothers who were struggling with a variety of issues.
