Newhaven Fort


Newhaven Fort was built on the recommendation of the 1859 Royal Commission to defend the growing south coast harbour at Newhaven it is now open as a museum.

The cliff top fortress commands superb views and brings history to life. You can experience what life was like in the First and Second World Wars through life-size and interactive exhibitions. Explore the underground tunnels; stand by the big guns on the ramparts.

There is a children's Mission Trail and an under-12's play area.
