“In a little town that is sat at the foot of the mountains. A war had taken the men far from home…”
Join storytellers Libetta, Mabe and Ru as they tell the classic tale of The Snow Queen, set against an Eastern European backdrop during WW1:
Gerda and Kay are the best of friends and are certain they always will be but when Kay is hit with magic splinters from a shattered mirror, everything begins to change. Kay meets the dark and mysterious Snow Queen who takes him far away to her distant land of ice. In this classic tale of ice kingdoms, magic spells and enchanting creatures, Gerda quests to defeat hatred and save her best friend from the dark magic of the Snow Queen.
This new adaptation written for Little Pixie Productions by Sarah Nelson (The Snow Dog, Pleasance Edinburgh), with stunning original music by James Atherton (Around the World in 80 Days, Royal Exchange Manchester) is a timeless tale, that promises to enchant the whole family from ages 5 to 105!

"So inventive and yet so true to the story. A brilliant adaptation, so imaginatively staged and beautifully performed. I'd usually take 'stunning original music' with a pinch of salt, but it's totally justified - immediately attractive but always fresh..." Quote by Donald Judge
