John Peel Centre For Creative Arts

disabled access

The former Corn Exchange building in Stowmarket had been sitting unused for over 15 years before it was brought back into use and renamed the John Peel Centre for Creative Arts in honour of the legendary broadcaster who lived just outside the town. We want to help people to access and participate in cultural activities and events. Our goal is to see more members of the community able to participate in and enjoy the benefits of pursuing their own artistic endeavours and supporting the efforts of others. As well as providing somewhere for the community to come together we will bring high-quality acts and performances to the area to inspire people and show what can be achieved. A mezzanine floor, two bars, toilets and wooden dancefloor are among the £1m additions. Please check out our website for upcoming events where you will find details of John Peel's record archive and our blog.
