    27-Jul-2013 Report

The Copthorne Hotel is situated against the stunning Quays within walking distance of Exchange Quay Metrolink and within easy walking of the Imperial War Museum, the Lowry Theatre, Media City and the Lowry Outlet. It has a four star rating. It also provides meeting rooms and facilities for special events.

We stayed at the hotel on a weekday however with several events on locally it was still quite busy.

On arrival at the hotel and having booked the children's concierge service we were greeted by Daniel who met us with ice cream for the children, a lovely draw string back pack filled with information on activities you could enjoy locally and her favourite thing of all a lovely teddy bear (which has gone everywhere since! Daniel was able to answer our questions about the area and provide information on how best to get to the attractions locally.

The reception was clean and spacious with comfortable seating areas to wait, having been checked in we moved on to our room.

The room was beautiful and spacious and filled with everything we needed including bath products, trouser press, flat screen TV, hair dryer and stationery as well as plenty of seating (something that is sometimes missing in hotel rooms) and the room had central heating. My only comment would be we did not see air-conditioning although this would only have been a problem in the one week of the year Manchester gets any sun.

The bathroom provided both a bath and a shower and was also spacious.

I particularly like the TV system which provided you with a personalised greeting, information on your bill and outstanding amounts as well as information on services the hotel provided.

There was a mini bar in the room stocked with a selection of alcohol and soft drinks and a small amount of snacks although prices are in addition to room charges.

Our room was at the rear of the hotel so had stunning views across the Quays which looked beautiful when lit up at night.

The hotel has two area's to eat providing everything from bar snacks to full course meals, it also has an outside seating area overlooking the docks for those days the sun reaches the UK.

Breakfast was self service with a wide selection of hot and cold food and was delicious.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel and would definitely stay again.

Room rates vary, please check the website for offers.
Children's concierge service available at small extra cost.
